Ball by Ball Live Score Commentary

That’s all from us tonight. Good night

Keemo Paul is Player of the Match Dream come true for me. Everyone asked me to enjoy the biggest league in the world, and why not. Adapted to the wicket, slower balls were gripping.

Shreyas Iyer It started to slow down and me and Rishabh decided that one of us must go on, the way we lost wickets in succession wasn’t great but we got some at the back-end from Keemo Paul and Axar. It’s a positive thing to carry back home (away wins), the way we bowled was exceptional.

Rabada We have our game plans and we try and stick to them, that’s all we can do. Playing in India you need variation in pace, Keemo did that beautifully and our spinners bowled exceptionally well. In many ways, you do have a responsibility as an overseas players, at the end of the day I want the team’s success.

Williamson I thought the first half with the ball was a pretty good effort, in the second half we tried but never got any partnerships going, we never got ahead of the game. There’s never complacency in such a tournament, anyone can beat anyone.

It’s been South Africa’s day in the IPL. After Imran Tahir spun a web around KKR, Rabada and Morris have combined, with help from Keemo Paul – can’t keep West Indians out of it – who was the pick of the bowlers. It was he who broke the threatening Warner-Bairstow stand and then tightened the noose around a misfiring SRH middle-order. Warner’s fall just after fifty had much to do with the squeeze during the middle and with him went SRH’s chances, as nobody other than him and Bairstow entered double figures and they succumbed to a third straight loss. Things looking ominous for them with table toppers CSK up next. All looks dandy for the Delhi Capitals after their third win on the bounce, which catapults them to second place on the table.

18.5W Rabada to Ahmed bowled him! The perfect yorker to complete a perfect defence of what looked like a below-par score but has proved to be more than enough as the Capitals stretch their winning streak to three and SRH go down for the third time in succession OUT
KK Ahmed b Rabada 0 (1m 1b 0x4 0x6) SR: 0.00
18.4W Rabada to Kumar slower ball on a length, he goes for the hoick to the leg side, gets it on the splice and offers a high return catch to the bowler OUT
B Kumar c & b Rabada 2 (8m 4b 0x4 0x6) SR: 50.00
18.42 Rabada to Sandeep Sharma short slower ball, left alone and called wide for height 2 wides
18.31 Rabada to Kumar full and straight and hammered back at the bowler 1 run
18.20 Rabada to Kumar short ball, follows him as he backs away and misses the attempted ramp no run
18.11 Rabada to Sandeep Sharma length on middle as he backs away and hangs his bat out but somehow finds the middle and gets a single to deep point 1 run

End of Over No.18 unrisers Hyderabad 112/8 Last Over (4 runs)

17.6W Morris to Abhishek Sharma that’s three in the over for Morris! Length on middle, tries to heave it to the leg side, gets it high on the bat and only manages to lob it up to extra cover OUT
Abhishek Sharma c Paul b Morris 2 (9m 3b 0x4 0x6) SR: 66.66
17.51 Morris to Kumar yorker on off, pushed to extra cover 1 run
17.41 Morris to Abhishek Sharma 1 run
17.3W Morris to Rashid Khan length on middle, swung away towards deep squareleg and SRH are losing wickets in a clump with the required-rate climbing every ball. Chris Morris is on a hat-trick now as Rashid Khan holes out OUT
Rashid Khan c Paul b Morris 0 (1m 1b 0x4 0x6) SR: 0.00
17.2W Morris to Hooda knocked him over as the leg stump goes cartwheeling! Perfect yorker, taling back in and through Deepak Hooda OUT
DJ Hooda b Morris 3 (8m 4b 0x4 0x6) SR: 75.00
17.12 Morris to Hooda length on middle, swings to the leg side, it goes high in the air but falls in no man’s land in the deep midwicket region 2 runs

End of Over No.17 unrisers Hyderabad 108/5 Last Over (4 runs)

Khan: “I was reading about Abhishek’s leg cutter to Munro, is it similar to what Imad Wasim bowls especially with new ball” – Not really, says our man Karthik Krishnaswamy, explaining that Imad tries to get the ball to swing more and holds the seam differently. Meanwhile, Karthik also has an excellent dissection of Abhishek’s ball in our Talking Points.

16.61 Rabada to Hooda short ball on middle. slower ball, helped along to fine-leg 1 run
16.50 Rabada to Hooda full and straight, pushed back to the bowler no run
16.41 Rabada to Abhishek Sharma length on middle, pushed aerially towards long-on 1 run
16.3W Rabada to Shankar another one goes high up in the air and that could be the match! Short ball, Vijay Shankar has little choice but to attack, goes for the pull but with his weight forward is in position to execute it, only manages a top edge, called nice and early by the wicketkeeper OUT
V Shankar c †Pant b Rabada 1 (8m 2b 0x4 0x6) SR: 50.00
16.2W Rabada to Warner Rabada wins the battle against Warner, but he has Keemo Paul, Amit Mishra and perhaps even Ricky Bhui to thank! Slower ball on middle, held in the surface, Warner tried to go over mid-off, who was in the circle but only had to take a couple of steps back to take and significantly dent SRH’s chances OUT
DA Warner c Iyer b Rabada 51 (86m 47b 3×4 1×6) SR: 108.51
16.12 Rabada to Warner length on middle, picks it up over the bowler’s head and to long’s right for two to bring up his fifty 2 runs

End of Over No.16 unrisers Hyderabad 104/3 Last Over (4 runs)

15.61 Paul to Warner full toss outside off, Warner gets an outside edge to short third-man and it’s only a single. The capitals continue to squeeze 1 run
15.50 Paul to Warner slower ball outside off, never arrives as Warner makes room to blast it through the off side and gets an outside edge on the bounce to the keeper no run
15.41 Paul to Shankar full on the pads, clipped away towards squareleg 1 run
15.31 Paul to Warner length, cramping him up, tucked away to deep squarelg for one 1 run
15.2W Paul to Bhui slower ball outside off and that ends an innings that has done SRH’s chances more harm than good, looked to smash it into oblivion, ended up top edging it to point’s left OUT
RK Bhui c Patel b Paul 7 (18m 12b 0x4 0x6) SR: 58.33
15.11 Paul to Warner full toss outside off, pushed to long-off 1 run

End of Over No.15 unrisers Hyderabad 100/2 Last Over (5 runs)

14.61 Mishra to Warner quicker one, almost a yorker, Warner pushes it past the diving bowler to his right and down to long-off to retain strike 1 run
14.51 Mishra to Bhui short outside off, hammered along the ground to deep cover but only one 1 run
14.41 Mishra to Warner full on the pads, clipped to deep midwicket 1 run
14.30 Mishra to Warner no run
14.20 Mishra to Warner dropped, if it can be called that! Quicker one on middle, Warner hammers it back flat and hard, but it found Amit Mishra rather than the other way around. Couldn’t quite get his hands around it no run
14.12 Mishra to Warner googly outside off, punched to long-off’s right and the large field allows two 2 runs
