End of Over No.20 141/5 This Over (18 runs)

10:38pm That is all we have from our coverage tonight! Thanks for coming, and see you soon.

Sam: “So Pranay keeps his virtual hat “

Wilthought: “appears that Coulter Nile’s horrific misfield in the final over of the Thunder innings has come back to haunt them. “

Rat: “Coulter-Nile’s tragic fumble cost them the match!”

Callum Ferguson is the Man of the Match.

10:31pm A win by one run! Sydney Thunder very nearly letting a massive advantage slip. But what a partnership between Turner and Bosisto. Came together at 54 for 5 at the start of the 12th over, with a required rate of nearly ten on a pitch that appeared unplayable. Not to mention, they came together in the middle of a dramatic collapse that read 4 for 4. The win puts Thunder in second place, but things have only gotten worse for Scorchers who now have only one win in five games and a serious batting disaster to sort out.

19.6 2 Sams to Turner he’s done it! Sams has just about held on. Slower ball, short of a length outside off. Turns away from him as he goes angled-bat on this and across the line. Can only get it along the floor to long-on’s left 2 runs

And now another chat between Sams and Watson

19.5 2 Sams to Turner just clears extra cover. Good slower ball, full outside off. Doesn’t get to the pitch as he looks to drill this straight. Thick outside edge is over Watson 2 runs

A big chat now between bowler and Watson

19.5 1 Sams to Turner full and wide outside off, very very wide outside off. Left alone. Turner’s shuffles into the off side is forcing him to push it wide 1 wide
19.5 1 Sams to Turner wide! The home crowd cannot believe this. Are those boos for the umpire? He isn’t wrong here at all. Short of a length, turning a long way away outside off 1 wide
19.4 4 Sams to Turner beats deep square leg! Sams with a thigh-high full toss at off stump. Turner walks into the off side and shovels it behind square on the leg side. Fielder sprints and lunges at this but can’t get his fingers on it FOUR
19.3 2 Sams to Turner slower ball, cutting away from the wide marker. But Turner swipes at it and gets it to long-off off the toe-end. Sandhu is slow there and they pick up the second 2 runs

Damian: “Why would Watson not bowl Sandhu for the last over when he hasn’t even gone for a boundary???”

19.2 4 Sams to Turner bisects deep midwicket and long-on! And that’s fifty for Turner. Slower ball at a length, skidding in at middle stump and he gets behind the line to punch this firmly. Strong arms FOUR
19.1 2 Sams to Turner slower ball, yorker length outside off. Tough to hit that. Meets it on the full and jams it out to long-o 2 runs

End of Over No.19 123/5 This Over (8 runs)

Superb over from Rainbird. Sams will try to defend 19 now. He’s around the wicket as well.

18.6 2 Rainbird to Bosisto short ball in at the hips. Walks at it and pulls to deep square’s right 2 runs
18.5 1 Rainbird to Turner slower ball, at a length and wide outside off. Swipes at it and is beaten. Buttler can’t collect cleanly as this dies on him 1 bye
18.4 1 Rainbird to Bosisto looks for the reverse ramp but can’t get bat on it. Slower ball, short of a length in the corridor. Clips his back thigh and rolls through to Buttler 1 bye
18.3 1 Rainbird to Turner full and wide outside off, inside edge onto the pitch and into the body as he backs away and looks to carve this 1 run
18.2 1 Rainbird to Bosisto slower ball, short and wide outside off. Gets low and chops it to sweeper’s left 1 run
18.1 2 Rainbird to Bosisto slower short ball outside off. Pulled past the non-striker and to long-on’s left 2 runs

Rainbird, around the wicket

End of Over No.18 115/5 This Over (15 runs)

28 off 12 now, and Thunder are worried

17.6 6 Green to Turner pumps it long over long-on! Green slows it down and beats him in flight outside off. He runs down at it and clubs it anyway. Superb connection despite having to reach out a long way. A great over has turned in the last two balls SIX
17.5 4 Green to Turner low full toss on off stump, backs away, makes room, and hammers this back past the non-striker FOUR
17.4 2 Green to Turner full and wide and slow outside off. Batsman’s moved a long way down leg side and toe-ends this to long-off 2 runs
17.3 1 Green to Bosisto short of a length at leg stump, steps out and cops it on the thigh as he looks to flick. Buttler swoops down on it, swivels and puts in a throw that misses at the other end. Would have been out 1 leg bye
17.2 1 Green to Turner yorker length at leg stump. Looks to flick and cops it on the toe 1 run
17.1 1 Green to Bosisto length ball just outside leg stump. Runs down at it and has a slog, cops it on the pad 1 leg bye

End of Over No.17 100/5 This Over (8 runs)

16.6 2 Sandhu to Turner low full toss wide outside off, tapped to sweeper’s right 2 runs
16.5 1 Sandhu to Bosisto slower ball, wide outside off at a good length. Swept to deep square 1 run
16.4 1 Sandhu to Turner slower ball at a length outside off, dragged to deep midwicket with a slog 1 run

Nick: “@James : The difference is England’s ODI team has proper batsmen in Hales, Roy, Bairstow, Buttler, Root, Morgan, and the allrounders come at this point ; Stokes, Ali, Rashid, Willey, ….”

16.3 2 Sandhu to Turner slower short ball outside off, pulled firmly between deep midwicket and long-on 2 runs
16.2 2 Sandhu to Turner low full toss outside off, driven to long-off’s left 2 runs
16.1 0 Sandhu to Turner slower ball wide outside off. Shapes to drive and is forced to check his shot. Pushes it back down the pitch no run

End of Over No.16 92/5 This Over (10 runs)

Baskar: “Oh and how about the Windies team? Pretty much a whole squad of deadly all rounders..”

15.6 1 Sams to Turner slower ball at a length on off stump, tapped to extra cover’s right off the front foot 1 run
15.5 2 Sams to Turner slower short ball at the waist, pulled to fine leg’s left 2 runs
15.4 4 Sams to Turner over fine leg and into the boundary, one bounce. Misjudged by the fielder down there. Bouncer and he swipes under it. Top edge sails over the fielder, who is already a couple of yards in on the long boundary before he takes forward strides FOUR
15.3 1 Sams to Bosisto short ball rising up at middle stump. Looks to pull and gets an inside edge onto body that deflects to short third man 1 run
