Ball by Ball Live Score Commentary

Matt Renshaw is the Man of the Match.

8:54pm Strikers came back strong with the bat, and bossed the early stages of this innings as well, but Brisbane Heat put things firmly back in place after dominating for most of the game. In serious trouble early in the chase, they found a completely new dimension to Renshaw’s batting. Innovation, power, touch – he had just about everything but his running sorted today. Doubled his highest score and stayed not out on 90, did the newly named “Rennovator”. McCullum played second fiddle to him with a fifty of his own and their stand of 122 took Strikers out of it. That puts Heat in sixth place and, technically, alive in the tournament. Thanks for joining us and don’t forget to head over to the Perth Scorchers game.

18.4 6 Neser to Ross that’s the win! What a glorious hit to bring that up. Length ball, slower one, just outside off. Skids on nicely to the bat. He gets the front leg out of the way and clatters this straight and flat over the bowler SIX

Mert: “Ross has been a consistent batter in the bash for a long time now, i think he deserves a shot in t20 team. ”

18.3 0 Neser to Ross no run
18.2 1 Neser to Renshaw short ball up at leg stump. Rides the bounce and dabs it down into the short fine area 1 run
18.1 1 Neser to Ross slower ball, full toss outside off. Clubbed along the floor to deep midwicket 1 run

End of Over No.18 172/4 This Over (8 runs)

17.6 0 Laughlin to Renshaw yorker just outside off. Jammed into the covers no run
17.5 1 Laughlin to Ross slower ball at a length on leg stump, tapped to deep midwicket 1 run

Geoff Waddell: “Renshaw can still get 100 – two sixes without any other score.” — Not anymore, unfortunately.

17.4 1 Laughlin to Renshaw short of a length on leg stump, looks to pull, cops it on the thigh 1 run
17.3 2 Laughlin to Renshaw slower ball at a length on leg stump. Closes the face too early on the flick. Chips it behind short fine 2 runs
17.2 4 Laughlin to Renshaw full on leg stump, flicked. Tremendous bat speed on that. Deep square can’t get it to his left FOUR
17.1 0 Laughlin to Renshaw slower ball at a length on off stump, defended off the front foot no run

End of Over No.17 164/4 This Over (11 runs)

16.6 6 Rashid Khan to Ross huge! What a hit from Ross. Googly, lobbed up at off stump. Gets the front leg down and nails the slog sweep to send it over the square leg boundary SIX
16.5 0 Rashid Khan to Ross googly, short of a length outside off. Chopped to short third no run
16.4 1 Rashid Khan to Renshaw length on leg stump, flicked to deep midwicket 1 run

16.1 1 Rashid Khan to Renshaw short and wide outside off, cut to deep point 1 run

End of Over No.16 153/4 This Over (8 runs)

Jahin: “Renshaw proving his versatility at a time when the ODI team are yearning for a strong, tall opener. What a player.” — Does he know how to smash down a door?

15.6 0 Neser to Ross bouncer just outside off. Beaten on the upper cut no run
15.5 2 Neser to Ross slower ball, full on leg stump. Flicked to short fine’s left 2 runs
15.4 1 Neser to Renshaw yorker just outside off. Shuffles and drops it pitch side into the leg side. Calls for yet another run that isn’t there. Neser rotates and throws and misses. Would have been out at the non-striker’s end 1 run

Geoff Waddell: “@Ado: R U shaw?”

15.3 0 Neser to Renshaw yorker just outside off. Jammed into the covers no run
15.2 4 Neser to Renshaw shot. Slower ball at a length on off stump, shuffles and looks to square. Doesn’t get it between square and fine, but it’s wide enough to deep midwicket’s left to beat him for the boundary FOUR
15.1 1 Neser to Ross length on off stump, tapped to long-on off the back foot 1 run

End of Over No.15 145/4 This Over (7 runs)

Ado: “Surely the spelling should be “Renovator””

14.6 1 Rashid Khan to Ross full on leg stump, swept uppishly to deep square 1 run
14.5 4 Rashid Khan to Ross shot! Length at off stump, gets down and swats this well in front of deep midwicket and his dive won’t get him to stop that FOUR
14.4 W Rashid Khan to McCullum given lbw! McCullum can’t believe it. It looked to me like he was outside off when that hit him. Does he think there’s bat on it? Length at off stump, it turns away as he gets down for the sweep and misses. Hits his back thigh. Might have been slightly outside. It was really close. OUT
BB McCullum lbw b Rashid Khan 51 (39b 6×4 1×6) SR: 130.76
14.3 0 Rashid Khan to McCullum slider at a length outside off, swept straight to short fine. Sent back and just gets the bat in as the keeper takes off the bails no run
14.2 1 Rashid Khan to Renshaw googly, short of a length outside off. Cut to sweeper 1 run

Rishav: “How Mcculum increased his strike in literally 2 balls after struggling for the rest of the innings shows the class of the man. “

Lachlan : “Hope Baz doesnt take away the chance for Renevator to get a century”

14.1 1 Rashid Khan to McCullum short and down leg side. Pulled to deep square 1 run

End of Over No.14 138/3 This Over (18 runs)

khpalwak: “common Rashid khan you turn this game back, just do it as usual “

13.6 1 Siddle to McCullum yorker following him down leg side. Tickles it into the leg side and brings up fifty 1 run
13.5 4 Siddle to McCullum spanked away! Short of a length just outside off. Backs away to make more room and gets a flat bat out at this. Sweeper can barely see that to his right FOUR
