Ball by Ball Live Score Commentary

7.38pm How did this even come down to the last over after Jos Buttler clattered 89 off 43 balls, including six boundaries in a row. From 147 for 1, Royals tumbled to 174 for 6, and were left needing six off the last over bowled by Hardik Pandya. Gopal nearly holed out off the first ball, missed the second, but connected well with the third to give Royals their second victory of the season. That’s all we have for you from this match. Do join us for the second double-header of the day: Kings XI v RCB. This is Deivarayan Muthu signing off on the behalf of Alex Malcolm, Venkat Raghav, and P Ranjith

Rahane: It feels good to win, but not really happy the way we played. That one over changed the game. 30 ball 30, we should have won it easily. There was a bit of nervousness, but we backed Gopal and KG to do it for us. We have to win almost every game now. We were in a similar situation last year too. We need to play fearless cricket, and I personally enjoy playing at the Wankhede.

Jos Buttler, Player of the Match: Great place to come out and play cricket. The last couple of overs were tricky and we desperately needed it. I’m playing the best cricket I’ve played over a prolonged period of time. I was disappointed to get out when I did. When you give quality teams a little bit of sniff, they get back into the game. I’m nervous without any gloves on, but nice to have a runaround. We will take a lot of confidence from this win.
